On the surface, the streaming web video site Nabolister appears to be like any other carbon-copy of YouTube and Google Video. After first seeing the low quality/low bandwidth homepage and the cartoony video player controls, Nabolister seems casually expendable, another poorly done web site. Of course, that all changes after following the links across the top of the web site, most notably the link to the movie section.

Nabolister, which will undoubtedly get taken down very quickly, seems to think that streaming the full-length versions of copy-written movies is completely legal. Most of the movies are DivX encoded DVD rips or DVD screeners, and all can be found through certain sites across the internet, but this site lets people who are inept at P2P and Bit Torrent transfers see their pirated movies with ease.

Here are links to some of the films that will surely raise some trouble from their respective studios:
300
The Departed
Schindler’s List
Disturbia

They even have TV shows!
Battlestar Galactica
Family Guy
House MD

I smell the Warner Bros. hounds coming. Quick RUN!

  2. DeusPayne says:

Why do this? It’s not worth watching, it’s not worth hosting, it won’t even come close to making any profit from ads before they get shut down. Fun…

  3. Kelvin Sleet says:

What makes you say it’s not Warner Brothers? Either some dope wanted to astroturf some numbers on how many people wanted to stream a 3-hour movie (…preferably a real downer…) over a non-TV-affiliate-looking thing, or the ads are right in there with the nazi opression and spartan stylez grindhouse.

Uni research project to see if their ’shared uplink’ ideas would work?

I have a few words to say on this, some you will hate.

Carbon copy of youtube or google?….It’s a master search engine for all media.
Low quality homepage means faster to load pages for quicker browsing.
Poorly done website? Did you notice how his website is fully manageable and “does things”?
You said undoubtedly taken down quickly, well it’s now end of December.
Yes all that is copywritten, the people in the theaters and ripping dvd’s and uploading them should be in jail. Don’t persecute the person just gathering links on our “free internet”
By the way, did you just do an illegal action by posting those movie links?
Should this site be taken down? Also google? Yahoo even? Any search engine?

There’s my 2 cents, now stick that in your pocket and pay someone to dress up your own website. This looks terrible, the white is hurting my eyes.

Say something incredibly witty, insightful, or l33t
