Apple offers famed Mac browser Safari to Windows users. Someone, somewhere might actually care.

Enough said. I’m looking at L.T. and Adam to tell me different. Anyways, the Safari download is on my computer now, but I have yet to install it. We’ll see how long before my curiosity takes over, which may be never, since I am very content with Firefox.

Get the newest version of Safari, now for Windows

Also, enjoy this photo of Safari’s features, which don’t really stand out too much to me. Do Mac users know that Firefox has an optimized version for Mac OSX that supposedly runs better than Safari? And do they know that Firefox has better plugin, theme, and add-on support and communities than all other browsers combined?

These questions of mine may never get answered, lest you be angry at my sayings.

  1. L.T. says:

Listen, the main reason why a lot of Mac users dislike Firefox is because it has major memory leaks. Keep it open long enough and it slows to a crawl, even in the optimized versions.

The other issue is UI. Firefox does not conform to Apple’s Human Interface UI. Firefox is a case of function over form which is okay for the Windows and PC world but on Macs? Hell no.

Supposedly both these issues are addressed in the upcoming Firefox 3. We shall see. In the meantime, put on your hat and lets go on a Safari!

  2. Adam K says:

Safari on the PC is as bad as an idea as iTunes on the PC. Mac programs just run better on Macs.

Cameron, I’m sorry you have to use watered down, slow running sad excuses of programming. Just understand why we love them so much when they run natively.

woo… yep… i’m a mac user and in fact i use that highly optimized-for-mac firefox… it’s called Camino. it’s pretty damn swell!!! the only thing i hate about it is that it doesn’t have access to all the firefox add-ons… even though it uses the same exact rendering engine, and has most of the same code!!! it’s so annoying… :(

Say something incredibly witty, insightful, or l33t
