Yes, well knew it was coming ever since some slip ups over at the U.K. Apple Store and now the word is official. So anyone got an extra $4,000 sitting around? Yeah, me neither. Looks like some of us are still locked into our 13-inch Macbooks, but what does such a hefty price tag come with?

“… the new machine includes two 3.0GHz Quad Core Xeon 5300 series processors with a total of 16 Mbyte of Level 2 cache, and 1.33GHz front side bus. Apple is still offering the Mac Pro with two Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5100 series processors with clock speed options of 2.0GHz, 2.66GHz, or 3.0GHz.”

Translation: “Yo rig is old n’ busted, so’s pick up one of deez fat rides and you can be like editing n’ shizzle.” Oh but wait, there’s more!

“In addition to the new Mac Pro, Apple lowered the prices for its Cinema displays. A 20-inch monitor sells for $599, a 23-inch $899, and a 30-inch $1,799. Previous pricing was $799, $1,299, and $1,999, respectively.

So there you go anti-early adopters, you just saved a nice chunk of cash, everyone else can now officially feel like a tool.
