And you’d be right. Now all Mickey fans can rejoice because the iriver Mplayer shown back in February is finally on sale in South Korea. Designed in conjunction with the Magic Kingdom, this pong sized mp3 sports the famous Mickey head silhouette. The ears act as your basic player controls with simple twists. Between the ears is a standard headphone jack and on the bottom is a mini USB port for syncing. Although screenless it more than makes up for it in cuteness factor.
The Mplayer comes with 1GB of memory and barely weighs 18 grams. MP3, WMA, and ASF formats are supported as long as they’re unprotected. No word yet on when or if ever the rest of the world will see the player in stores. For now, it’s South Korea only selling for $60.

The iriver W10 is the latest gadget to spill out of the company’s magic hat. Like other iriver devices, it sorta does everything with primary expertise in one area. In the case of the W10, it’s media (music and video). It supports pretty much every non-DRM’d format out there and displays it beautifully on the 3″ LCD boasting a 480 x 272 resolution. If you have a PSP, you have a good idea of how sharp the screen is. Other features are a mini-SD card slot and built in FM turner with recording capability.
However 3 features make it stand out. This thing supports flash - so games and YouTubing are a go. It also has WiFi and an integrated positioning system. Obviously browsing the internet are within its grasp but the more interesting application is VOIP. Yes, apparently the W10 can make phone calls via the internet. Hot ain’t it?
Lots more pics after the jump. (more…)

In one fell swoop, Sony has decided to informally admit the utter failure of their ATRAC audio format and hideous SonicStage software. This realization comes in the form of a new Walkman dubbed B100. The B100 mounts like a flash drive and songs can be dragged right onto it. No need to launch any software or convert audio files. Sony plans 1, 2 and 4GB flavors each sporting a single line OLED display, FM radio and support for MP3, WMA and AAC formats
No price yet but expect availability sometime next month. Make it a slider USB nub instead of an easily misplaced cap and they might have a winner here.

It doesn’t fly or attack aphids. In fact, it’s just your run of the mill MP3 player . . . or is it?
The Ladybug MP3 player is designed for kids with overprotective parents. Mom and dad can record a voicemail from any phone which would then be sent to the kid as an MP3 file to listen to. The earbuds detract from underneath as do the legs should you want to sit it up on your desk. The wings are hot swappable with other designs and hide an SD slot to compliment the internal flash memory. You know, I sorta want one now.
