iriver mplayer 1

And you’d be right. Now all Mickey fans can rejoice because the iriver Mplayer shown back in February is finally on sale in South Korea. Designed in conjunction with the Magic Kingdom, this pong sized mp3 sports the famous Mickey head silhouette. The ears act as your basic player controls with simple twists. Between the ears is a standard headphone jack and on the bottom is a mini USB port for syncing. Although screenless it more than makes up for it in cuteness factor.

The Mplayer comes with 1GB of memory and barely weighs 18 grams. MP3, WMA, and ASF formats are supported as long as they’re unprotected. No word yet on when or if ever the rest of the world will see the player in stores. For now, it’s South Korea only selling for $60.

iriver p10 2

Here it is, the last of the 5 iriver concepts going into production this year. The iriver P10 is a PMP device. Like all other iriver gizmos, it supports every video and audio format. It takes a page out of the CLIX book and integrates player controls along the edge of the frame. If you’ve never used a CLIX player for, it has a tactile touch-click feel when you press the buttons. The P10 is also considerably smaller than other PMPs out there without sacrificing screen size. Last but not least, a cute little kick-stand to make watching your fav. programs a little easier on the neck.

More pictures after the jumpy jump.

iriver W10, please don’t call it an iPhone

iriver w10 1

The iriver W10 is the latest gadget to spill out of the company’s magic hat. Like other iriver devices, it sorta does everything with primary expertise in one area. In the case of the W10, it’s media (music and video). It supports pretty much every non-DRM’d format out there and displays it beautifully on the 3″ LCD boasting a 480 x 272 resolution. If you have a PSP, you have a good idea of how sharp the screen is. Other features are a mini-SD card slot and built in FM turner with recording capability.

However 3 features make it stand out. This thing supports flash - so games and YouTubing are a go. It also has WiFi and an integrated positioning system. Obviously browsing the internet are within its grasp but the more interesting application is VOIP. Yes, apparently the W10 can make phone calls via the internet. Hot ain’t it?

Sexy is as sexy does, the iriver Life Unit

iriver life unit 1

Seriously does it get any sexier than this? The iriver Life Unit designed by the famed Niro Nakamichi has got to be one of the sexiest gadgets I’ve seen this year. It speaks volumes about a company that can make a hot product without looking like other “apples”.

The updated teaser site doesn’t reveal stuff we really want to know like price and release date but it does give a glimpse into what the Life Unit will do. In a nutshell - EVERYTHING.

We’re talkin’ center of your home entertainment hub here. Slot load CD/DVD player, LCD screen that’s detachable and turns into a PMP device! It’s got wireless capability for streaming, a port that charges and syncs with iriver players, a sic touchscreen remote control that unfolds into a 78-key QWERTY keyboard, a radio, a TV tuner, and last but not least; custom designed Nakamichi audio system.
Hell, they should have made it into a phone too. Many more pictures after the jump. (more…)

iriver NV is so slick that it’s sic

iriver nv

First off, this device is South Korea only. I had to preface with that to save any disappointment experienced after reading what all the iriver NV can do.

It’s billed as a multimedia navigation system and by far the most featured packed. The design is just sic. The 7″, 800 x 480 screen is just sic. It supports every video and audio format - that’s just sic. Like FM music? No problem, this sic device has it. The jog dial has an embedded OLED screen to indicate function and directional icons when in navigation mode. My god that’s sic! Last but not least, the slick sic remote makes it easier than ever to push buttons in style.
