If you have ever dual-booted Linux and Windows like I have, you would know that Amarok for KDE (a GUI for Linux) is far superior to Winamp and iTunes. Since it was only found within Linux, every time I used Winamp I would always wish that I could have Amarok instead because of great features like:
* Excellent support for scripts (plugins)
* Doesn’t support any audio formats (all formats are installed through engines)
* Has a better album display:

Plus many more features:
* Quick and simple drag and drop playlist creation
* Super eye-candy interface
* Multiple backends supported (xine, NMM and Helix)
* 10 band equalizer
* Automatic cover art download using Amazon services
* The unique and powerful Context Browser
* Automatic play-statistics generation (iRate style)
* Full lyrics download
* Funky visualisations from libvisual and XMMS
* Streaming from any KIO source
* Crossfading
* Fully configurable translucent OSD for track changes
* K3B (CD-burning) integration
* KDE integration
* Style your Context Browser with custom CSS styles.
* Save space in your Context Browser with collapsable boxes
* Show the Context Browser without amaroK open through the konqueror sidebar!
* Full support for last.fm! Share your music taste with friends on the net
* Generate dynamic playlists based on last.fm suggestions
* Support for sqlite, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases ensuring fast collection access
* Support for iPodĀ®, iRiverĀ® and generic UMS mp3 players with the all new media-browser
* Powerful scripting interface, allowing for easy extension of amaroK
* Complete DCOP access
* Translated into more than 35 languages, thanks to the KDE internationalization team.
Now this once Linux-only media hog is available on Windows in the new build dubbed Amarok2. The ease of this port/build is brought to us by the cross-platform C++ development toolkit Qt, which is similar to Java in the sense the code is internalized. This build is a big deal to me, since I like wolves more than llamas anyways.

Better than iTunes? Horsesh*t!
But seriously, it sounds extremely powerful but for me it’s all about ease of use.
I find the only comparable jukebox/media player outside of iTunes is Songbird. It’s stable, open source, free, lots of add-ons and plug-ins and most important - supports Windows, Mac and Linux AND has 64 bit support.

I always love amarok when using my linux box, but I guess I will have to see if it works with me for windows, I find jetaudio hard to beat.

I’ll give it a shot, since I’m less than happy with Winamp right now. Is it a horrible memory whore, though?

It wasn’t on Linux, don’t see why it would be on Windows.
