Apparently Intel isn’t the only one with a crystal ball into the future. At an event in Mumbai, HP showed off their “Always Connected” concepts - a section of their HP Mobile Innovations Tour. The concepts show the company’s vision of 2012 with devices like watches, tablets, computers and wallets all connected to a central hub. Many of the concepts take today’s experimental technologies like paper thin LCD screens and ultra-slim portables and make them fashionable. HP believes in the future, high-tech electronics must depart from their current “techy” look and embrace a more friendly approach to design. More of it after the jump.

Wireless Gateway Watch is the central piece to the experience syncing all information from any device right onto the wrist.

Digital Wallet eliminates the need for card machines and credit cards altogether. The flexible display unfolds to show real time transactions of any account.

Tablet of the future will be ultra-slim because it won’t store any information locally. Applications and information are web based so data can be unlimited.

Laptops won’t change much in form factor but do come with snazzy touch screen displays with tactile feedback. Like the iPhone, the lower display changes its UI based on the application in use.

Media Mat is a way to bridge information between all your devices into a larger workable area. It can be rolled up and taken anywhere.

Digital Pen is something we’ve seen before but technology has given it independence. No longer bound to a computer or software, the pen allows people to take notes anywhere. All the information is stored in the pen itself and can be retrieved thru any device with a display.
