If its cheap then its…not bad?

I’ve recently been looking into going HD, problem is I’m not made of money. I would love to drop $3,000 on a beautiful 1080p LCD, but I’m realistic and try not to live beyond my means. I’ve been looking at different options and every cheap HDTV I’ve come across is either:

1. A no name brand or worse, a company that is known for making crappy toasters

2. Something that gets horrible reviews from users on sites like Newegg

So you can understand my skepticism when I found the Syntax Olevia 37 inch for under $700. I was originally looking for a modest 32 inch and willing to pay over $1000 so to say the least, I was a little apprehensive. Further inspection showed that TV had an overall higher than expected review score.

Then Gizmodo goes ahead and posts a 32 inch model on their front page today for a measly $530 in which 3 of the 4 commenters said good things based on their personal experiences. So heres the question, is this thing actually going to kick ass or am I getting stuck with a $700 piece of crap? I praying for the second one since it’s been a few months since I’ve seen an episode of Heroes on something besides my laptop.

Expect a full review after it arrives and I get some good alone time with. Hopefully I can give you guys a little more detailed info on this company and one of their products before you go jumping in head first, wallets flailing.

you should have gotten the 37 inch westinghouse lcd tv with 1080p at newegg for 1000 dollars

You know when I said company that makes crappy toasters, I meant Westinghouse.

Nobody burns a slice of bread quite like Westinghouse can.

Yo Adam, you should check out the Vizio tv’s over at Costco (or www.vinc.com). My bro got the 37″ lcd for $899, and it actually has really good picture quality. They also have a 32″ lcd for $699 I believe. Also, it displays 360 games at 1080p (at least that’s what the tv says it’s displaying it at, maybe it’s being upconverted, but it looks awesome regardless), and yes, Lost and Heroes look amazing on it as well.

Say something incredibly witty, insightful, or l33t
