It amazes me that as bad as MS handled their launch, Sony made it look like MS had the model for success. I'm still in favor of MS' structure - don't pay for the Hard drive, don't pay for the HD DVD drive, don't pay for the HDMI - unless you WANT all that.

Greatest title ever...

The move is brilliant, since it really pushes a lot of people to go out and buy a ps3 "now" for fear of losing the opportunity to get the cheaper model.
Come Holiday season, when titles start dropping, they'll lower the price again, attention will be paid.

Now, to be fair, the 600 comes with a 60 dollar game, an extra 50 dollar controller, and an impossible to price 20 gig increase in harddrive space... so its not like the 600 package is the "same" as the previous 600 package... you just have to be willing to buy one lump sum, rather than several smaller purchases around it.

The day I bought my 400 dollar xbox, I spent:
40: One extra controller
30: battery pack+ charger
20: 2nd battery charge pack
55: Used gears of war
35: dead rising
(discounting the second game, I spent 554 pre tax for one game, two controllers, and the must have battery packs.)

All I can say is that Sony does not care about anyone, they are a business and want your money. At least with Msoft and Nintendo you feel some sort of compassion, no matter how fake it is.

On a funny note, http://sonyprotectiongroup.com/ is not reporting anything. It's like the FOX News of gaming world.

This is madness! Sony is playing with consumers, there's no a price policy. What do they wait from us? A warm smile and our euros?

By now I can only say that I own a Wii60, and that's why my wife accepts 400 as a limit (as you can guess I tried to buy PS3).

Wii was a birthday gift and 360 for me. What can I say her to buy a PS3?
